Medical ozone in the form of ozone therapy, as part of the new complementary medicines, has been used in different forms and for various purposes, both therapeutic and antimicrobial or disinfectant, showing great effectiveness in treating different conditions for over 100 years.

How Ozone Therapy Works:

Ozone can help prevent infections in wounds and post-surgical areas, treat ulcers caused by tissue damage such as diabetic ulcers, and reduce inflammation in different organs from various causes, as well as improve digestive disorders such as colon conditions, and joint or muscle pain.

According to a 2018 study by Trusted Source, when ozone comes into contact with body fluids, the resulting reactions produce more proteins and red blood cells, increasing the oxygen supply in your body.

Ozone therapy can also be applied to limit harmful processes in the body such as infection and inflammation.

Research has shown that ozone therapy can inactivate different microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses like COVID-19, fungi, yeasts, and protozoa.

People with respiratory disorders may experience improvement when receiving ozone therapy treatment.

With the pandemic caused by the spread of the COVID-19 virus and respiratory limitation symptoms in affected patients, the use of ozone therapy to improve not only lung response but also combat the COVID-19 virus is being recognized as an aid for patients, especially as performed by Clínica LIV doctors in combination with antiviral IV drips.

By increasing oxygen levels in the blood, ozone therapy can help reduce stress on the lungs. Your lungs deliver oxygen to the blood and the blood to your organs.

In a 2014 scientific study analyzing intravenous ozone therapy, or the injection of ozone mixed with blood, to treat COPD, it was found that ozone therapy improved quality of life and exercise capacity in patients with COPD caused by smoking.

Although it is neither permitted nor ethically correct to claim complete effectiveness as a cure for coronavirus caused by COVID-19, the application of ozone therapy in conjunction with antioxidant- and vitamin-rich IV drips can help patients not only improve virus symptoms but also prevent or reduce severity.
