Non-pharmacological ozone therapy to prevent or alleviate the effects of Covid-19

Ozone is a molecule composed of several oxygen atoms.

Since the Covid-19 virus is a pathogen that affects oxygen transport in the blood, ozone is a valuable element to help the body improve the oxygenation process to the organs, as well as to combat viruses per se and their metabolic products.

Ozone therapy, with its different modalities such as ozone auto-hemotherapy, has been a treatment mechanism used by our clinic to treat and improve various pathologies and enhance the health conditions of our patients.

Ozone therapy and auto-hemotherapy (MAH) are blood-based ozone therapies with or without supplemental serum, to combat infectious agents such as viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens on an outpatient basis to fight viral infections such as coronavirus or Covid-19 infection, and as a treatment for Covid.

Scientific studies conducted at several universities, including by Zheng et al., Dr. Ines Zucker from Tel Aviv University, Francesco Cattel, Susana Giordano in Italy, have shown varying degrees of effectiveness in eliminating the Covid-19 virus.

Scientists from Fujita Health University presented their research demonstrating that ozone gas at concentrations of 0.05 to 0.1 parts per million (ppm), levels considered harmless to humans, could kill the virus.

Research conducted by Dr. Zheng’s team at Fujita has shown positive results in treating confirmed COVID-19 patients using ozone therapy called auto-hemotherapy.

After treatment with auto-hemotherapy, their symptoms quickly disappeared, starting a faster recovery.

Ozone therapy can be applied with serums in the form of ozonated serum therapy to optimize the effects of ozone and intravenous serums.

Ozone therapy vs Drugs

It has been noted that, compared to drug-based therapies, these physical techniques are safer, as they would not cause side effects, are easy to use, and offer other health benefits.

Among different complementary ozone therapies for COVID-19, one recognized mechanism to improve the condition of treated individuals is enhancing blood and tissue oxygenation to prevent multiple organ failures due to hypoxia.

In this regard, research by Thorp et al. (2020) examined the effect of ozonated saline solution administered intravenously on oxygenation in the human body.

The results showed that intravenous ozonated saline improved blood and tissue oxygenation and increased a person’s ability to tolerate a hypoxic environment.

Non-drug-based Covid treatment approaches, such as ozone therapy (O3), could be useful in combating coronaviruses and other viruses in the human body and environment (Valdenassi et al., 2020).

Multiple mechanisms have been proposed for ozone’s antiviral properties, including: (1) direct viral inactivation, (2) inhibition of viral replication, (3) oxygenation of blood and tissues, (4) inhibition of inflammatory mediators, (5) activation of immune defenses through endogenous antioxidants, (6) upregulation of HO-1 in endothelial cells, (7) resistance to micro-thrombi formation, (8) delivering more oxygen to tissues via 2–3 diphosphoglycerate stimulation, (9) enhancing immune activity through nuclear factor, and (10) cell protective activity. (Rowen, 2019, Toon, 2020, Simonetti et al., 2019, Kahle et al., 2015).

How is Auto-Hemotherapy performed?

The auto-hemotherapy procedure involves extracting a small amount of blood from the patient (depending on their condition) from a vein, adding ozone to it, and reinjecting it intravenously.

Auto-hemotherapy can also be combined with the intravenous application of specialized serums of different natures to enhance its therapeutic effect.

The goal of the therapy is to improve the immune system’s ability to fight diseases, combat viruses or bacteria, and help eliminate existing inflammation.

This auto-hemotherapy technique has been part of treatment for immunological disorders,
chronic degenerative diseases, and cancer in various hospitals in Europe.
